Redmetroid megaman engine LITE is finally released!

Good morning/afternoon/night. After many months (I think almost 1 year of being gone) I'm finally back with a new and reworked version of the redmetroid megaman engine! 


THE LONG TIME

 I apologize for the delay, as my personal life has been very busy and has interfered a lot with my ability to develop the project (which has always been a hobby and a great part of studying the gamemaker, and always will be). 


WHY THIS NEW VERSION? AND WHY "LITE"?

 Well, let's see...why "lite", you ask? About 1 year ago, I was developing the old version of the redmetroid engine, however, I always thought that there was a certain "weight" in all that code, because after all, I'm always studying GML and new things are learned or old things, optimized. And that's where the problem with the old version came in, there were too many things for anyone who wanted to start a "new" project using that engine as a template. So I decided to make a new engine "from scratch" with only the most basic things that a game like megaman traditionally offers. To start, I decided to use the most popular title in the franchise, which is "Megaman 2", as a base. The result was the version you are seeing now.

FEATURES

Well, don't think that because it's a lite version, this version doesn't have some extras. I took the liberty of including a few things that normally didn't exist in Megaman 2. All of these extras are optional and configurable both in the project and in-game (via menus). These "extras" are: 

 * CHARGED BUSTER 

*SLIDE 

* RUSH COIL 

* RUSH JET 

 As for normal features, the most basic implemented: 

 * Fully implemented boss (Metalman) 

* Fully working boss weapon (metal blade) 

* All of metalman stage enemies in a working state 

* MM2 styled in-game menu 

* E-tank system. 

* Whitemasks systems, based on Wrecking programs' mega engine (for Megaman color changes and item color changes no shader used, with red engine customs)

And more!

Well, that's it, This project will be updated only for bugfixes and, as it works like a "template", i won't add features as it is a lite/template thing.

Install instructions

GAMEMAKER IS REQUIRED TO USE VANILLA OR LTS VERSIONS OF REDMETROID ENGINE (MONTHLY FOR VANILLA AND LTS FOR LTS EDITION).

GAME_ONLY EDITION IS PLAYABLE IN ANY WINDOWS VERSIONS, NO GAMEMAKER REQUIRED.
